JONATHAN W. GRAY

Professor Gray received his B.A. from Howard University, his M.A. from Fordham University and his Ph.D. from The City University of New York's Graduate School and University Center.   He taught as a visiting professor at SUNY-Old Westbury prior to joining the faculty at John Jay.   His research interests include post-World War II American literature and Culture, African American literature, Comic Books and Graphic Novels, Black masculinity, and Race in Popular Culture.

Professor Gray is currently working on a book project, Innocence By Association: Civil Rights in the White Literary Imagination , which was also the title of his dissertation.
