DEVIN HARNER

Professor Harner teaches Journalism and American Literature. His interests include literary journalism, contemporary poetry, narrative theory, and Irish punk music. When he is not reading or writing he likes to play soccer and bicycle.

His profile of peace activist, Michael Berg was published in Main Line Today in January of 2005. A mixed-genre memoir, “The Cucuzza Phenomenon,” involving pop music and theories of cover versions was published online in Australia last year.

Before coming to John Jay, he was an adjunct faculty member and a student at University of Delaware where he spent the better part of a decade as an undergraduate and graduate student.  Harner has worked as a lifeguard, as a busboy at T.G.I. Fridays, and as a temp at a Chrysler factory building Dodge SUVs (for which he is repentant).
