TIM McCORMACK
Assistant Professor Tim McCormack junked a successful career in public
relations and marketing to return to academia and teach writing. He has
degrees in journalism, fiction writing and composition and rhetoric.
Before coming to John Jay College, he taught at the Highbridge Community
Life Center in the Bronx, various branches of the City University of New
York and at New York University. He is interested in how writers
create words on the page, how texts create meaning, and how readers
receive meaning from words. His current research focuses on the role of
literacy in social, political and economic justice. He is also a certified zamboni driver in search of an ice rink to drive on.
