CHARLES STICKNEY
Before becoming
a professor at John Jay, Dr. Charles Stickney was a naval officer
on ships in Japan, Virginia, and the Mediterranean, and then for two
years was an advertising agency copywriter in Manhattan. With degrees
from Brooklyn College, University of Edinburgh, and CUNY Graduate
Center, Professor Stickney has taught at John Jay since 1970. His
publications include poems in 17 poetry magazines. Also, Professor
Stickney co-wrote with Charles Swindell a play, Shall We Go and
Join the Others? performed in1978 at the New York Arts Consortium.
Professor Stickney's two books are The Zany Adventures of Andy
Allowitz and his travel memoirs, World
Enough.
