How do I get an account? If you are a faculty member or a staff member at John Jay,email a request for a MySkillSource web-based training account to itss@jjay.cuny.edu.In the email tell us your name, the name of the department/office where you work, your phone number and which library of courses you wish to enroll in. Select one(only) of the following libraries:
  • Office Productivity(Microsoft Applications, Lotus, Wordperfect, etc.)
  • Computer Professional(Networking, Programming, etc.)
  • Business & Management Skills(Fundamentals of Managing People, Setting Goals, etc.)

Once you submit your account request, we'll respond shortly via email with information that will allow you to log in and begin learning.

Once you've received your account information, go to the MySkillSource website at http://www.enterprisetraining.com/john_jay/. Log in to your account using the "Enrollment Key Log-In" option the first time, and after that use the option for registered students.

What software do I need? You can participate in web-based learning on either your Mac or your PC.  To visit the MySkillSource website (at http://www.enterprisetraining.com/john_jay/) and participate in web-based learning, you'll need a web browser (either Netscape Communicator or Microsoft Internet Explorer), and the Shockwave plugin.

To install the Shockwave plugin on your Mac or PC, click on the image below.

For help configuring the PC or Mac in your office to use MySkillSource web-based learning, please read our "How do I install Shockwave" instructions in the Hardware and Software Guidelines section of this document. You may also contact the DoIT HelpDesk at x8200.

How do MySkillSource courses work? MySkillSource provides a self-paced course to serve as a web-based learning tutorial.  Use this New Student Orientation to discover more about the kinds of courses MySkillSource offers as well as the learning resources that are part of your student account.
How do I get help? To read context-specific help documentation, click on the link labeled Help at the left of any MySkillSource page. To get further assistance from MySkillSource support staff, click on the link labeled Contact Us at the left of any MySkillSource page.  Finally, if you're taking an instructor-led course, you can email your instructor for help with course material or exercises.
