Then Minor in Speech & Theatre!

The Minor in Speech & Theatre requires any combination of 6 speech and/or drama courses (18 credits), including Speech 113, to enhance your career preparation or to explore a lifetime passion for theatre, film, or media.

You may take courses in Speech to improve effectiveness in interpersonal and professional communication. You can learn the dynamics of organizational and managerial communication. You practice arguing, cross-examination, and testifying before a jury. You can find out how to interpret and use the media to get out your message.

You can also take Drama courses such as acting, oral interpretation, directing, or theatre production. Students learn more about how Theatre, Film, and Media represent important issues such as the criminal justice system, ethnic groups, or gender roles, or explore these problems on your own through sociodrama. You can also earn up to 6 credits for participating in campus theatrical productions.
