Mary Ting has a varied art practice that includes installation, drawing, photography and video. Layered in memories and mythologies, the animals, figures and cropped forms in her artwork are both personal and allegorical.

The work offers a more complex examination of the body, gesture and gender.

Ting is a recipient of numerous grants and fellowships, including the 2003-2006 Lambent Fellowship in the Arts; New York Foundation for the Arts fellowship; Puffin Foundation project grant; ACA Emerging Artist Grant; The Pollack Krasner Foundation fellowship; and the New York State Council on the Arts grant among others.  Recent NYC shows include Metaphor Contemporary, Cuchifritos, Axel Raben Gallery, Five Myles, the Chelsea Museum and a solo show at CIRCA in Montreal.
