Doctoral Students in Criminal Justice are invited to access John Jay licensed electronic resources from off campus in the same way as John Jay students, faculty and staff-- through the John Jay Library proxy server. The proxy server only works if the licensed resources are accessed via links on the Library web pages.
Go to the Library’s home page at http://www.lib.jjay.cuny.edu/. Some of the most popular electronic resources can be access via the Shortcuts box in the middle of that page. For all other resources, or to search for resources by subject, go to the Electronic Information Resources page: click on the link on the left side of the Library’s home page or go directly to http://www.lib.jjay.cuny.edu/infosources/resources.cfm
When you connect to a licensed resource you will be asked for your username and password. For Criminal Justice PhD students your username is first initial last name with no restriction on length; e.g., bnelson, mweinbaum, rhunter-gatherer
Your password is phdxxxx where xxxx is the last four digits of your social security number. International students should use the last four digits of their Graduate Center ID number.

Fitness Center News From your fellow student Charlyn Hilliman: Hello fellow students, last week prior to the town hall meeting with President Horowitz, President Lynch invited myself, and Laura Galante, from the DSC, to his office along with some key administrators from John Jay and the Graduate Center. During this discussion I mentioned to President Lynch that the Graduate Center currently does not have a fitness center and that John Jay Ph.D. students have to pay a fee to use the fitness center at John Jay. President Lynch immediately went to the fitness center and made an arrangement on our behalf. Now we need only to go to the Third floor of the T building with proof that we are students in the Criminal Justice Ph.D. program (Grad Center ID and John Jay ID, which we should all have), and request a pass to use the fitness center. Did I mention that this was free? Well it is free for us from now on. Please let me know if there are any problems and I will correspond with the VP Witherspoon from John Jay to straighten it out.
