Test anxiety can plan a critical role on how well you do on your exam. Many students find that they know the material on their exam, but suffer because of the test anxiety that they experience.

The following are tips to overcome test anxiety

  1. Make sure you are prepared for the exam. This will reduce a lot of the stress you might have.
  2. Approach the exam with confidence. If you are prepared this should be no problem.
  3. Get a good night's sleep the night before the exam.
  4. Get to the exam early. Find yourself a seat and relax.
  5. Many students do a last minute review. DON'T. Relax, if you are prepared you shouldn't need a last minute review.
  6. Eat before the exam. Be energized. Take vitamins.
  7. Read direction carefully before you begin the exam. Understand what the professor is looking for.
  8. Make sure you budget your time.
  9. Skip difficult questions. Come back to them later. Do not stress if you cannot answer a question.
  10. Take all the time allowed. I have never seen a teacher give extra points for turning in a test early.
  11. If you feel that you cannot control your test anxiety, make sure you see your professor.
