Grammar Explanation

•  Use the past participle form of a verb after the auxiliaries: have, has, and had.
  • Examples: I have worked there for six months. Edel has known her since September.
•  Use the past participle form of a verb after forms of BE: am, is, are, was, were, be, being, and been in the passive voice.
  • Examples: The suspect was arrested two days ago. He has been held since then.
