Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity - D4CS
(formerly Forensic Computing - FCM)
Origins of the Program
While many people were involved in developing the John Jay program, special thanks are owed to Special Agent Bob Weaver, now retired from the U.S. Secret Service, who was a guiding force in the Electronic Crime Task Force concept and first proposed that John Jay create a graduate program in computer forensics.
The program was approved by the New York State Board of Regents in Februrary 2004 and the first cohort of 17 students began study in the Fall semester of 2004. It was the first graduate degree program in forensic computing in the United States and remains unique in its hybrid offerings in computer science and criminal justice.
Thanks, Bob!
