Fire Science Faculty

Our faculty is unusually capable. Our courses are taught by faculty who are among the most important leaders and thinkers in their specializations.

 

Glenn Corbett, M.Eng.

Glenn Corbett, M.Eng., Is the Department Chair for the Protection Management Department. He currently serves on the Fire Code Advisory Council for New Jersey and is a former member of the Federal Advisory Committee of the National Construction Safety Team. He is the technical editor and a columnist for Fire Engineering Magazine.

Norman Groner, Ph.D.

Norman Groner, Ph.D. is the director of the Protection Management graduate program and a well-known expert on human and organizational factors that pertain to fire safety and emergency planning. He recently served as an expert advisor to the National Institute of Standards and Technology investigation of building evacuations during the 9-11 WTC attacks.

Robert Till, Ph.D

Robert Till, Ph.D. coordinates the Undergraduate Fire Sciences Programs.  His field of study is fire protection engineering with an emphasis on firefighting, room fire modeling, and simulation of human behavior.

Charles Jennings, Ph.D.

Charles Jennings, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Protection Management and Public Administration programs.  He is also the program coordinator for the Christian Regenhard Center for Emergency Response Studies at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.  He has authored articles in Public Administration and Fire Science Journals, numerous professional studies, and is on the Editorial Board of Fire Technology, a scholarly journal. He has also organized international conferences on fire service and emergency management topics.

John M. Best, M.S.

John Martin Best, M.S., Is the retired Fire Chief of Reedy Creek Improvement District, FL, He is  a member of the NFPA Technical Committee on Fire Service Training, And he has helped to develop fire training standards on Live Fire Training and Building Fire Service Training Centers

Peter Blaich, M.S.

 

Timothy J, Flannery, M.S.

Timothy J, Flannery, M.S., is a professor in fire science at Passaic County Community College and Warren County Community College in New Jersey.  He is a member of Training and Education Advisory Council for the New Jersey Fire Safety Commission.  He has authored articles on fire training for Fire Engineering Magazine and the Voice from I.S.F.S.I.
