THE CRIME SCENE ACTION ANALYSIS OF KOREAN HOMICIDE

Abstract

The present study aimed to determine the characteristics of crime scene actions in Korean Homicide. Based on the previous literature, it was explored in the present study that developing a model of behavioral themes in Korean homicide. As a result, a three-way behavioral thematic structure was identified in the present study, namely Unplanned-Expressive, Unplanned-Instrumental, and Planned-Instrumental. It was explored that whether behavioral difference could be related to the difference in offender background characteristics. The correlation between offender-victim relationship and each of three behavioral themes was also explored. As a result, there existed significant difference in some of offender background characteristics among three behavioral themes, including offender’s previous sexual relationship with the victim.
