Katherine Allocco received her PhD from the University of Texas at Austin in August 2004. Her dissertation, "Intercessor, Rebel, Regent: The Political Life of Isabella of France (1292/6-1358)” explores the relationship between gender, sexuality and power in thirteenth and fourteenth century England and France. Her professional interests include medieval Europe, medieval women, gender theory and sexuality. Her minor field is Atlantic Worlds. Kate has been teaching History 231 at John Jay since the Fall of 2001. In the Spring 2005, she will begin to teach History 232.
