| Course description:
Biology 104 consists of lectures and laboratory experiments covering
topics in modern biology. There are 4 lecture exams, each worth 15% of
the final grade. The lecture exams will consist of 45 multiple choice
questions (2 points each) and one essay (10 points). There are no
make-up exams. If you miss an exam and do not have a valid written
excuse, you will receive a score of zero (0%). The laboratory part,
worth 40% of the final grade, will be derived from the scores of 2
exams, a laboratory report, quizzes, notebooks, and class participation.
Attendance: You are required to attend the lectures. An attendance sheet will be circulated during class. It is your responsibility to sign the sheet during class. You will not be permitted to sign the attendance sheet after the class has been dismissed. More than four (4) unexcused absences are considered excessive and you will receive a grade of WU. You are required to read the 2001-2003 Undergraduate Bulletin (p.41-42) regarding the College’s policy on plagiarism and cheating.
