Rape and other forms of sexual assault are violent crimes which encompass any and all sexual activity inflicted on an individual that is unwanted, and/or not consented to by that individual. The fear and threat of rape and sexual assault contrains women's lives -- it affects the quality of life of every woman, man, and child. This website will look at sexual assault on college campuses: the problem, its exent, how legislation and other various forms of policies have effected how the criminal justice system and its agencies look at the problem of campus rape today. Until we, as a society, acknowledge how significant the problem of sexual violence is in today's society, no progress can be made towards its elimination. The colleges/universities, the government and communities must work together to eradicate this escalating problem.
