The proposed Phase II building will be situated on a site 200’ wide by 500’ long. This represents the balance of the block behind the Haaren building currently occupied by a parking garage and railroad easement. The building will be roughly 600,000 square feet and could rise 6-8 stories above the site. In rough numbers, North Hall and the Haaren building are approximately 300,000 square feet each giving John Jay approximately 600,000 gross square feet. When Phase II is completed the College will have roughly 900,000 square feet. This will allow for more classrooms, office space, research facilities and a first for John Jay – a campus commons. The future of North Hall will be decided by DASNY.
