Registration Information for Spring 2000

John Jay College of Criminal Justice will be offering graduate classes in Protection Management and undergraduate classes in Fire Science at the New York City Fire Academy on Randall's Island for the 2000 Spring semester beginning in February and the 2000 Summer semester beginning in June 2000. 
The course schedule for the 1999 - 2000 academic year at the New York City Fire Academy on Randall's Island is as follows:

    These classes are available to fire department personnel who wish to register. For those students who have attended classes this previously at John Jay, either at the main campus or at the Fire Academy may register by telephone for the spring semester. Anyone who wishes to attend the spring semester graduate or undergraduate programs who has not attended before may pick up an admission form at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice Office of Admissions, located in Room 4205 North Hall, 445 West 59th Street, New York, NY  10019 or telephone the Admissions Office at 212-237-8865.  Anyone who is a New York City uniformed employee should ask for an "APPLICATION FOR UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION FOR IN-SERVICE PERSONNEL"

    READ THIS INFORMATION PRIOR TO REGISTERING
    To register by telephone have the following information ready.

  • Your Social Security Number
  • Your PIN number [ this is your date of birth - if it is 3/17/1970 you would give 031770.  The number must be six [6] digits in length]
  • The four [4] digit course code [SEE ABOVE]
  • THE PROCEDURE IS AS FOLLOWS
  • When the system answers your call, press 1 to indicate you are dialing from a touch tone phone
  • Enter the following number for the summer semester - 61999 and for the fall semester - 91999, then hit the # sign
  • Enter your social security number, then hit the # sign
  • Enter you PIN number, then hit the # sign
  • When the system responds press 1 to indicate you wnat registration information, then press 2 to register
  • Wwhen the system asks to "add a course", press 1
  • Enter the 4 digit course number
  • When the system says "you are registered" press 1 to confirm, if you made an error press 2
  • Continue the process for the desired number of courses you want to take
  • When finished press 5 to review your courses, if correct press 2 for financial aid info, then  press 3 for your bill information
  • Press 9 to complete the process

    Master of Science in Protection Management

    John Jay College of Criminal Justice FDNY Academy

    Course Rotation

    The proposed schedule is designed to permit completion of the program in two calendar years, based on attendance one night per week when classes are in session, with the student completing Public Administration 747: Computer Applications in Public Policy and Management at John Jay College sometime during the two-year period. (Three sections of Public Administration 747 are normally offered each semester. The course is also offered periodically over the Internet.) Fire Protection Management 700: Introduction to Fire Protection is waived for students with significant professional experience in the Fire Service. Public Administration 705: Organization Theory and Management is completed either at John Jay College or through attendance, with required additional written submissions, at twelve lectures in the Graduate Lecture Series or alternate lectures and events as approved by the Program Director. Courses are offered on Wednesday nights at 6:00-8:00 pm and 8:15-10:15 pm.
