What is Krav Maga?
Krav
Maga is the official self-defense system
or martial art of the Israeli Defense
Forces.
"Krav Maga" is Hebrew for "contact combat." It is a very effective,
"street-wise" martial art, designed
to be used against armed and unarmed attacks.
Who can learn Krav Maga?
Anyone
can learn! Krav Maga is designed to be practical
and adaptable. Children
can learn; the elderly can learn; people in wheelchairs can learn;
YOU can learn! The techniques
are NOT DIFFICULT to learn with proper instruction. You
do NOT need to be particularly athletic.
*If you are already a martial artist, you will find Krav Maga to be
an excellent addition to your training!
What kinds of techniques will I learn?
When
you study Krav Maga, you learn how to defend against
a variety of attacks.
You learn how to get out of chokes of all kinds, headlocks, hair-pulls,
and bear-hugs. You
learn defenses against kicks and punches, against knife and stick attacks,
and against
multiple attackers. You will also gain
confidence as you master each technique.
Where can I learn?
There
are training locations in Manhattan, Long Island and several other locations
around
the tri-state area. You can sign up for group classes, semi-private
classes, or private instruction.

Michael Blitz is certified by the Krav
Maga Academy in Israel. To hold this
certification, Krav Maga
instructors must pass a 150-hour Instructor
Training course, taught by Haim Zut, Grandmaster and
Chief Instructor of the Krav Maga Academy
in Israel. In addition, instructors must pass a course in Anatomy,
Physiology,and Krav Maga Teaching Methodology.
Krav Maga Academy instructors are also certified in Standard
First Aid and Adult CPR.
