1) Global trade influenced each of the Asian Dynasties described in pp. 136 – 146. Describe in a BRIEF paragraph for each empire, the ways in which trade impacted the Mughal and Ming Empires.

INote: if you don't identify your claim/evidence/warrant, you will not receive credit for this exercise.

Organize each of your two paragraphs around a claim that summarizes the impact of trade on that respective dynasty. Then support your claim with evidence, including examples as necessary. After supplying evidence for your claim, write a warrant that links your evidence to your claim regarding that dynasty. Finally, you must label your claim/evidence/warrant: put a (CL) before your claim, a (EV) before your evidence, and a (WA) before your warrant.

2) Describe two IMPORTANT ways in which the discovery of the New World by European had an impact on China, BESIDES THE SILVER TRADE. (again, there is no single passage that will help answer this question -- you will need to think analytically about what you have read.)

3) Thinking about your reading in the textbook, p. 93 – 101, the excerpts from Racism: A Short History, and the excerpt from Mazower, which minority group member would have experienced more tolerance from the dominant society around them: a Jew in Christian Spain in 1492, or a Jew in the Muslim Ottoman Empire in 1500?
